Today…
Today… I believe God inspired ideas, dreams and creations are just waiting to be started.
This website has been sitting silent since the end of 2022, almost like my old Polaroid camera, waiting patiently for my hands to grasp it and capture the memories. This keyboard waiting for my fingers to touch the keys and pour onto the pages about life, marriage, family, ministry and more. Yet, sometimes the areas we are called to the most are some of the hardest to breakthrough. This has been my journey.
Over the past 20 years I have received over a dozen prophetic words about speaking and writing. I remember the first two to three times I shrugged off the words internally believing the lie of unqualification. I want to say the transition towards walking in courage was instantaneous after the 10th time I received “that” prophetic word, but that has not been the case. It has been a slow churning and refining with the small steps of obedience as opportunities arose alongside continual risk.
Before I knew the importance of partnering with God with the prophetic words released over me, I slowly but surely attempted to create space to write and speak. I remember at the beginning of the year a friend said to me, “just do it and do it messy.” As a perfectionist that sounded terrifying, but I also loved the idea of not overthinking. Slowly but surely little spurts of doing it “just messy” popped out, but I found myself withdrawing time and time again.
So today I am starting something new… I am going to commit to blogging every week I am able with the present day in focus. So much can be seen, heard, and recognized in a day, so why not start there. It might be just one small step of obedience in partnering with the Lord, but I am excited for the day approaching and all it has to offer.
Lastly, I must confess, I believe it’s time for more of this. I believe there are many heavenly God inspired ideas, dreams and creations just waiting to be started. If my story of question and hesitation is any encouragement, today is never too late, just do it messy.
Here’s to TODAY.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
- Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
- Matthew 6:34 ESV
